This project will build upon previous work to determine the feasibility of using a fishmeal processing plant for primary stabilization of kelp and evaluate potential new products made from the residuals, including feed, fertilizer, cosmetics, and biochar.

AFDF’s “Alaska Seaweed Market Assessment” was an inspiration for this project. This project is being co-funded by Denali Commission, who have contributed $30,000 to KelpMeal.
